Ram Shastri

Ram Shastri is an attorney at the Firm who specializes in the areas of domestic and international tax planning, wealth transfer planning, and trusts and estates. Mr. Shastri advises and assists high net worth clients located in the United States and worldwide in implementing strategies to minimize their tax exposure in the United States. He also frequently works with and advises accountants, fiduciaries, and wealth planners regarding various income, estate, and gift tax issues and creating various structures for their clients.
Mr. Shastri has experience creating structures to minimize United States income tax liability for domestic clients and for foreign clients who wish to either reside in the United States permanently or to invest in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Shastri specializes in creating estate planning structures that assist domestic and foreign clients in transferring wealth to future generations, while reducing their estate and gift tax exposure in the United States. Mr. Shastri also advises clients in implementing various creditor protection strategies. Furthermore, Mr. Shastri assists clients residing in the United States with creating various offshore structures in jurisdictions worldwide. Finally, Mr. Shastri assists domestic and foreign clients with their respective United States reporting obligations associated with their structures.

Mr. Shastri has extensive experience drafting various types of trusts and estate planning documents for his clients. He also guides his clients through the probate and trust administration process. Additionally, he advises his clients in corporate and partnership issues, and assists his clients in the formation and continued maintenance and compliance of such entities.
Mr. Shastri is admitted to practice law in states of Florida and Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is also involved in various organizations, such as the Financial Planning Association of Miami, where he currently serves as a board member and Co-Chair of the International Practice Group, the Estate Planning Council of Miami, the Florida Tax Bar Section, and the Florida Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Bar Section. Additionally, Mr. Shastri is an active participant in the Miami Dade Legal Aid-Put Something Back Program, assisting indigent clients in their probate or estate planning matters.
