Timothy D. Richards, Esq., the Founder of the Firm, is a Florida Bar Board Certified tax attorney who specializes in international tax matters. Mr. Richards’s areas of practice include international and domestic tax planning, pre-immigration planning, estate planning, international regulatory compliance, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Richards was raised in Costa Rica, studied International Relations at Brown University (’74) and received his Juris Doctor from the Suffolk University Law School (’78). Mr. Richards began his legal career as a Wall Street tax associate at the Firm of Feinschreiber & Associates, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on import and export taxation. Mr. Richards was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1981, and was certified as a Tax Specialist in 1993.

Mr. Richards’s other relevant experience includes acting as an expert witness for the United States Department of Justice in money laundering cases; testifying before the Senate Finance Committee on pending legislation to repeal the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (“FIRPTA”); and serving on the boards of Eastern National Bank N.A., the World Trade center of Miami, the Beacon Council, and the Florida International Bankers Association.

Mr. Richards has a long history of publications and editorial positions, and continues to publish tax articles in magazines, journals, and newspapers.
